Celtic head into the split three points clear after Rangers bottle crashes

Celtic go into the split fixtures three points clear of Rangers after Philippe Clement’s side drew at Dens Park against a comfortable Dundee. The Ibrox side were two points clear at the top eighteen days ago but now Brendan Rodgers and Celtic are three points clear going into the final five fixtures.

Despite being played off the park against Ross County at Dingwall, Rangers were again decidedly average at Dens meaning that it is now one win in five and three games without a win for Rangers. The result in the Highlands meant that it was advantage Celtic for the Scottish Premiership; however, with three points more on the board and five games to go, Brendan’s side are in pole position.

The Dundee DJ played ‘Feeling It’ at Full Time as Rangers were not in the mood for a lap of honour, despite their previous insistence on the practice in the 3-3 draw against Celtic earlier this month. Celtic will, of course, be mindful of the performance from Dundee as the first fixture after the split is against Tony Docherty’s side at Dens.

Rangers appear to be feeling the heat in the title race just as Celtic are clicking into gear. Brendan will be delighted with the result but it will mean nothing if his side do not kick on and ensure that they win their next three games.
