Celtic Invincible attracting the attention of the Serie A

Recent reports suggest that Stuart Armstrong may have the opportunity to sign for a club in the Serie A.

Following the Scottish international’s exit from Celtic to Southampton FC for £7 million in 2018, Armstrong has accumulated a vast plethora of experience playing in the English Premier League. Although Southampton’s most recent season didn’t exactly go to plan, as they were relegated to the Championship, Stuart Armstrong has attracted the eyes of the Italian Club Torino. However, it is also reported by Football Scotland, that Lazio is also interested in purchasing the services of the ex-Celtic player.

Southampton’s Stuart Armstrong

Whether a move to Italy is preferable to Armstrong is unclear, but it may prove critical for him to continue playing football at the top level if he wishes to retain his place in the Scotland squad. With many different players in the Scottish team playing within the English Premier League, a move to the Championship may be detrimental to his hopes of playing internationally, as other players may be consistently playing at a higher level than he is and claim his position.

Armstrong is a quality player who deserves to be playing at the top level, so a move to Italy may be a welcomed change for the experienced midfielder.
