“Celtic is a club I love”, Griffiths promises to bring success back to Paradise

Leigh Griffiths has said that he is looking forward to getting back to work with Celtic after agreeing a new one year deal with the club. Griffiths professed that he loved the club and wants to do all that he can to bring success back to the club after a period in which he struggled for fitness and game time.

Speaking to the Celtic website, Griffiths promised to do all that he can to help bring success to the club and be involved in Postecoglou’s rebuild.

“I am delighted to extend my time at the Club. Celtic is a club I love and want to do all I can to play my part again in bringing success to our supporters.”I’m looking forward to the season ahead and working with the new gaffer and the rest of the lads. It is an exciting time for the Club and I wanted to be part of the Club’s future. I’ll be doing everything I can to help us get back to where we all want to be.”

Many had expected that Griffiths would be released after he appeared to distance himself from the club on social media but it appears that this was just a coincidence as the next day he had penned a new deal. The 30-year-old has scored 123 goals for the club and he will be targeting to extend that this campaign as Celtic look to regain the League and the other two pieces of silverware from St Johnstone.

The player needs to prove that he can do his talking on the pitch and training pitch after a very public posts about working back to fitness on social media. The club and the support have been patient with Griffiths and he needs to repay that faith after what has been a difficult period for the ex-Hibs attacker.
