“Celtic is a really good team,” Hibs latest signing Marijan Cabraja

Hibs latest signing Marijan Cabraja has revealed he was sold on the move to Easter Road due to the prospect of playing the mighty Glasgow Celtic. Cabraja was an old foe in last year’s Europa League, having been on loan at Hungarian side Ferencvaros whom we beat home and away and were mightily unlucky in the end not to qualify to the last-32 of the competition.

Cabraja sealed his move to the Leith outfit yesterday, and the former Dinamo Zagreb man made the revelation that the idea of playing against Ange Postecoglou’s team again sweetened the deal to sign for Lee Johnson’s side. He said: “Scottish football is really dynamic and Celtic is a really good team, they beat us and I think the league is really dynamic with a lot of fighting and running – it should be fun”, as reported by Herald Sport.

He added: “I’m very excited to play football in Scotland, this is maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity so I didn’t want to miss it. Edinburgh is such a nice city; I have read a lot about the city and I can’t wait to explore it.”

It seems wherever we go we leave our mark and Marijan might be over the moon at the prospect of playing Ange and his charges, however, Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Jota, Abada and Giakoumakis perhaps might change his mind about that once he comes face-to-face and in the flesh again. The firepower the Bhoys have in the final third of the pitch these days is enough to quite literally give defenders nightmares.

During this pre-season training camp one thing has been obvious: we look incredibly dangerous going forward and we’re in the mood to score goals all of the time. That should be sending cold shivers down the back of teams up and down the country. Last season was just our first together. This year we will be a completely different animal again and its doubtful anyone can stop us in the cinch Premiership league.

The countdown is on and we all can’t wait to get going! But first, Blackburn Rovers and the smiler on Saturday.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
