Celtic keen on £3m-rated Dutch central defender

Celtic are reportedly keen on Dutch defender Justin de Haas. The Scottish Champions are looking for reinforcements ahead of the start of the new season.

According to Herald Scotland’s Stephen McGowan, Celtic have scouted De Haas, who is rated at £3m by Portuguese side Famalicao.

A product of the AZ Alkmaar youth academy, de Haas is eyed as a potential first team option to compete with Auston Trusty and Liam scales for the left sided role alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers. Kieran Tierney’s return to Scotland is a quality acquisition by the Scottish Champions and Brendan will want strong options as he continues to strengthen his squad ahead of a new season.

Celtic are expected to allow Gustaf Lagerbielke to move to Portugal to sign a £2m deal with Braga. Moreover, it is expected that Stephen Welsh will also be allows to leave, which raises the possibility of another central defender joining.

Maik Nawrocki departed for Hannover during the week on a loan to buy deal and Celtic will want to have their first team put together before the start of the season with a view towards the Champions League Playoff at the end of August.
