Celtic legend Henrik Larsson part of consortium keen on purchasing English club

Celtic legend Henrik Larsson is reportedly part of a consortium to purchase an English club. Larsson is joining up with Dutch trio Dennis Bergkamp, Dirk Kurt and Ronald Koeman as they look to create a club in their image.

According to Euro Foot on Twitter/X, the quartet want to get a club in either League One or League Two and Larsson, along with Bergkamp and Koeman, will have roles.

Larsson will be the Head Coach of the team, something that he has only done in his homeland. Larsson was part of a consortium to buy EFL side Southend but the deal did not materialise and the Swede ended up assisting Koeman in the Nou Camp with Barcelona. After departing, Larsson rejected the chance to be considered for the Sweden International role. It will be interesting to see how this pans out with this move. Robbie Williams is the latest celeb to profess to be interested in following the footballing and commercial success of Wrexham.

In his time at Celtic, Larsson scored 242 goals going from stopping the ten in 1998 before bowing out as a Scottish Champion. They don’t make many like Henrik these days. Despite his stature, he could jump well above central defenders and a nip of pace to take him beyond many a defender. The quality that he had in front of goal speaks for itself given the sheer amount of goals that he scored.
