Celtic legend replaced by sacked Hibs boss Lee Johnson

Celtic legend Scott Brown has been replaced as Fleetwood Town manager by sacked Hibs boss Lee Johnson. The Englishman was sacked by Hibernian last month after a winless start to the season whilst Brown was also a casualty for a poor start to the season.

Johnson has been confirmed as the new manager of the EFL League One side with Broony left to consider his next steps in management.

Johnson has managed Sunderland, Barnsley and Oldham but it is believed that he impressed at interview with Fleetwood. The North Western club have just one point from their opening six games, resulting in Brown leaving the role.

Johnson’s tenure at Easter Road was marred by bizarre quotes and even stranger signings; however, it is fair that the latter isn’t solely his fault. It will be interesting to see if he can kick on with Brown’s squad at the Flyde Coast club.

You wouldn’t be surprised to see Scott Brown come into Celtic in some role as he plots his return to the dugout at some stage. The player-turned-manager will likely want to spend a bit of time with his family, who remained in Edinburgh whilst he was down in England.
