Celtic legend takes aim at Michael Beale after he is sacked by Sunderland

Celtic legend Chris Sutton has taken aim at former Rangers boss Michael Beale after he was sacked for the second time this season, this time by Sunderland. The Stadium of Light side emptied Beale after a disastrous twelve-game spell.

The former Celtic striker-turned-pundit wasted no time in posting a humorous barb at Beale, who labeled Sutton as Chelsea’s ‘worst ever player’ in an interview.

Sutton, a Premier League winner, was the target of comments from Beale at the beginning of his stint at Ibrox, which aged like milk. Beale has now talked his way into three jobs on the back of his ‘brains behind Gerrard’ ruse and now it looks as if the game is up after the Englishman was chased out of the North East.

The ex-Norwich and Blackburn Rovers forward arrived from Chelsea in a deal worth £6m, then the club’s record transfer fee. Sutton made 199 appearances for the club, scoring 86 times. In this time he would be a roaring success winning four titles, three Scottish Cups and one League Cup. He was a fine player with great instincts, even if he wasn’t the quickest at times. His fantastic vision, eye for goal and almost telepathic link-up with Henrik Larsson made him a key figure in that successful era.

  1. I think we have more to focus on than a guy who was in way over his head, twice in a season!
While everyone knows that the only reason he even had success as an assistant to gerrard was by sfa help and covid, combined with a self destruct season in Paradise, we are staring at a repeat this season!
Frankly, I sincerely don’t care one tiny iota about him or either of his former clubs!
I care about the Champions and us getting our act together before we implode again!

  2. If I owned a used car business, I’d employ the guy at the drop of a hat. Not as the manager mind you.
