Celtic linked with £6m move for prolific Bodø/Glimt striker

Celtic are being linked with a late transfer move for Kasper Høgh. The 25-year-old has impressed with Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt, scoring 42 goals and assisting on 12 occasions in 82 appearances for Kjetil Knutsen‘s team.

Transfer journalists Pete O’Rourke and Anthony Joseph reported earlier today that Celtic were considering a move for the player in the closing stages of the window.

It is expected that Høgh’s future will be decided later this week, after the club from the Artic Circle face Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Celtic will face competition from Philippe Clement’s Norwich City, who are eyeing a replacement for US Internationalist Josh Sargent, who is attracting interest from Italy.

The issue for Celtic supporters has been that a number of links have been made without Celtic progressing any further. Julian Araujo and Tomas Cvancara have been signed on loan deal with the Czech striker arriving on a loan to buy deal.

A number of players have been linked with a January move to bolster the ranks of the Scottish Champions with Mark Hendry reporting that the club are eyeing moves for midfielders Felix Horn Myhre and Niko Sigur alongside central defenders Aurele Amenda, Jamie Lawrence and Przemysław Wiśniewski. Celtic need firepower in attach but also steel in midfielder and defence.

Celtic are believed to be assessing their options as they look to strengthen the team. However, the focus from the recruitment team appears to be loan deals given the deparure of Jay Lefevre and subsequent sacking of Paul Tisdale. Although, Celtic could do well to get some permanent deals as a signal of intent to win the title.
