Celtic make enquiries about hidden gem in French league

CELTIC have reportedly made enquires about a hidden gem in the lower French leagues. Sory Doumbouya of fifth tier side Rodez Aveyron has attracted the interest of Celtic, Basel and Sion as the youngster impresses in France.

The Guinean 21-year-old has been the subject of tentative enquiries from the Scottish Champions according to Actufoot. However, Doumbouya is unlikely to improve Celtic at this moment in time and should any offer even be made, it would be on the premise that he is one for the future.

Celtic already have Odsonne Edouard, Albian Ajeti, Leigh Griffiths and Patryk Klimala in the striking department and are well stocked up. Celtic will no doubt keep tabs open on the player if interest is genuine and watch his progress from there.

Neil Lennon has previous with unearthing gems in Europe with Victor Wanyama and Virgil Van Dijk all coming to the club, establishing themselves and moving on. Celtic is an attractive prospect for a lot of players as well as those who may see it as a route to England – seeing Forster, Tierney, Armstrong all going down South after success at Celtic.
