Celtic not interested in Manchester United midfielder

Celtic will not be adding Scott McTominay to their midfield ranks this summer. Brendan Rodgers’ side had been credited with an interest in the Manchester United midfielder but a report claims that he will not be joining the Scottish Champions.

As reported by Football Scotland, McTominay will not be signing for Celtic this summer.

The Scotland Internationalist was said to have been at the recent win over Rangers in the Scottish Cup Semi Final but he won’t be featuring when the teams meet in early September.

Man Utd are said to be considering the future of McTominay, who is a product of their youth academy. Newcastle United are reportedly interested in him, as are West Ham. The wages on offer in the Premier League always meant tha a move to Celtic was unlikely, even with the carrot of Champions League football.

Celtic have already added Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio to their ranks. Two incomings from South Korea are expected with Yang Hyun-Jun and Kwon Hyeok due to join.

Rodgers has already identified European progress as being high on his list of aims for his second tenure and spoke about strengthening the squad at this time. Celtic are expected to spend big but it appears that McTominay won’t be signed.

  1. Evans is well past his best before date.
McTominey is far to clumsy with Massive wages with no future profit.
Celtic can do better deals elsewhere.
