Celtic now one win away from second successive title under Ange Postecoglou

Celtic are just one win away from retaining the Cinch Premiership after results this weekend.

The Scottish Champions dropped points for the first time since January as Stuart Kettlewell’s Motherwell held the Scottish Champions to a draw yesterday. Callum McGregor’s first half strike was cancelled out by Kevin Van Veen’s effort with Ange’s team missing a hatful of chances to win the game. However, after today’s result in Aberdeen, Ange Postecoglou’s side are just one victory away from sealing their second successive title under the Australian.

Rangers, meanwhile, were beaten by Barry Robson’s Aberdeen in the North East thanks to goals from Liam Scales and Bojan Miovski. This means that the SPFL announcement in the coming days will be crucial as it will tell supporters when the title can be won.

Celtic are likely to receive two home fixtures and three away fixtures. Celtic will likely host St Mirren and Hibs/Hearts with away games against Hearts/Hibs, Aberdeen and Rangers. It will be interesting to see whether Celtic are afforded the chance to win the title at home.

Next weekend brings the Scottish Cup Semi Final against Rangers at Hampden with a victory in that game putting a treble within touching distance. It could be shaping up to be a pivotal and memorable fortnight in Celtic’s history.
