Celtic on This Day – Calmac’s Full House

ON THIS DAY in 2018 Callum McGregor scored a wonderful winning goal for Celtic against Zenit St Petersburg to give Brendan Rodgers’ side a 1-0 lead to take to Russia. Sadly it was not going to be enough but it was enjoyable at the time!

In scoring that goal McGregor ensured that he’d a complete set of goals for Celtic that season, scoring in the three domestic competitions, the Champions League and now the Europa League.

As Celtic lost the return fixture 3-0 and had dropped into the Europa League from finishing in third spot in their Champions League Group, this ensured that Callum was the ONLY Celt to score in all five tournaments last season.

And it was some goal. An honourable mention to substitute Charly Musonda who may not have made much of an impact at Celtic but he certainly did showed he has something about him that night!

The Celtic side a year ago tonight was Dorus de Vries, Mikael Lustig, Jozo Simunovic, Kristoffer Ajer, Kieran Tierney, Eboue Kouassi, Scott Brown, Olivier Ntcham Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Moussa Dembele.
