Celtic poised to miss out on striker target due to interest from Premier League newcomers

We all know that the finances in the Premier League are obscene, but it leads to an interesting choice for a few players every summer when Celtic are linked.

It’s likely that even the newly promoted sides will be able to pay a wage two or three times higher than what Celtic can pay, but it also comes down to ambition.

Money isn’t everything and you have to think a more ambitious player would look to win trophies and test themselves in Europe rather than going for a relegation battle, and it’s the choice that Josh King may need to make this summer.

Football Insider have reported that he’s attracting interest from Norwich City as he’ll move on a free transfer this summer, but he’s also been linked with a move to Celtic.

There could also be an Eddie Howe factor here as he worked with the Norwegian striker at Bournemouth so that could change things, but it’s likely that he’ll need to choose between money or the chance of trophies.

He would be a different option for Celtic up front as he’s not as technically gifted as Eddy, but he’s incredibly quick so it’s easy to see him being successful in the Premiership if he does move.

That pace could also be vital in Europe as he can also play on either wing so he should be a good addition, but there’s going to be some tough competition for his signature.
