We are Celtic, we are proud and we will always be

Our club is one borne of compassion, generosity and fair mindedness. It was born for the benefit of all. To reach out to those feeling that the establishment had forgotten and left them behind.

Today more than ever when despite 130 years after the foundation of our club many people in Scotland are experiencing similar feeling of hopelessness.

Let us never forget our humble origins and roots and reach out. Give a helping hand in whatever way we can.

The food banks the charity drives. Our players’ partners who take to our ethos and embrace the club and its values.

Today our club has evolved into a truly international institution.

We operate as a professional football club lauded the world over for our sense of fair play.

Today on the verge of sustained success and an unparalled “Double Treble” let us stand proud above those who would seek to castigate all that we stand for.

We have triumphed on the park and off the park we are a model of how a modern day football club should be run. We don’t rely on T.V monies, we don’t need loans…..soft or hard to function at a competitive level.

Yes we struggle on the European stage. But the aforementioned would account for clubs such as ourselves, Borrusia Dortmund, Ajax And Bruges previous power houses of European competition to fodder for Arab rich, T.V run clubs.

We have suffered heavy defeats recently, but this is because we have lived within our means, Peter Lawwell has repeatedly stated at the start of the season European prize money is not factored into our financial planning for the coming year. If living within our means and being non reliant on that money means we have to take a sore one occasionally then I’ll take that.

It keeps us ahead of the competition in our domestic league and has allowed us a period of success and dominance seconded only to our fabled Lisbon Lions.

Yes we get the odd anomaly: Leicester winning the EPL and Liverpool’s success in reaching the Champions League Final this year…and might I add…Congratulations to them both.

Let us morally rise above the corporate controlled European/English clubs, above clubs who are so embedded in their own short sighted bigoted jealousy that they quite happily gamble with other people’s money while hoping for a quick pay day.

Who fill in financial holes using charity matches as a way to fill their own pockets and not the mouths of the needy and hungry.

We are Celtic, We are One Club and we are proud of our team and our board of directors. We continue to support those who are less fortunate than ourselves and in a great many cases even supporters who struggle to pay for their season tickets dig deep because they themselves know what it means to go without.

We are Celtic, we are proud and we will always be. 130 years not out. Hail Hail and God Bless.
