NEIL LENNON has confirmed that the club are moving to appoint Damien Duff’s replacement in the coming days as the preparation for next season begin. The Scottish Champions were dealt a blow when it was announced that the Premier League winner would be departing at the end of his contract due to family reasons.
However, with Celtic on the verge of another historic season, the club must move quickly to replace the Irishman and Lennon told Celtic TV that the club have identified ‘three or four options’.
“We’re hoping to have someone in place next week. We’ve identified three of four options but I can’t say anything yet.”
Now, it has been reported that the son of Gordon Strachan, Gavin Strachan is a target for Neil Lennon. The Peterborough Assistant manager is reportedly frontrunner for the job according to journo Alan Nixon.

Former Celtic defenders Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea were the frontrunners for the role with McManus having worked on the first team staff at Motherwell to Stephen Robinson. Celtic will require someone that knows how important 10IAR is whilst having the capabilities to replace Duff.

Duff will leave the club to work as an Assistant for the Republic of Ireland.
