Celtic receive injury boost after scans reveal no serious damage

CELTIC have received an injury update after scans on Jeremie Frimpong revealed there to be no serious damage after a horror tackle from Motherwell’s Devante Cole. The pace right-back carried on but was finally forced to go down, to be replaced by  Hatem Abd Elhamed.

The Scottish Sun are reporting that scans revealed no serious injury to the ex-Man City kid. The international break has come at a good time for Celtic and Frimpong

Celtic had feared that there was ligament damage to the knee of the right-back; however, it appears to be only bruising. Celtic’s next fixture is a tricky jaunt to Easter Road to face Jack Ross’ Hibs.

The 19-year-old has been a revelation since joining from Man City last year, providing an attacking outlet to the right side of defence. Despite the shocking challenge from Cole, Andrew Dallas deemed it to be only worthy of a yellow card. SFA Compliance Officer Claire Whyte is yet to announce whether Cole will face retrospective action for the foul but  you would think that a tackle of that type.
