Celtic are reportedly monitoring Kieran Tierney’s transfer situation. The 27-year-old has been recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in Scotland’s Euros campaign.
Talksport’s Alex Crook has claimed that the Scottish Champions are keeping tabs on the left-back with a view to bringing him back to the club.
Celtic have Alex Valle and Greg Taylor to compete for the left-back position at the club. Taylor is currently in the final year of his deal while Valle is only on loan from Barcelona. It could be that neither of them could be at the club next season. Brendan has spoken about prioritising an extension for Taylor but there is yet to be an update about the discussions.
Tierney, who was signed by Unai Emery in 2019, has fallen out of favour with Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard sanctioned a loan last year to Real Sociedad, which allowed Tierney to play Champions League football. Although, given his injury in Germany, there was no opportunity to find a new club.
The picture of Rodgers and Tierney at a Celtic Foundation event in London sent fans into overload as they hoped for a reunion between the pair.
It will be an interesting one to keep an eye on in the coming months.
