Francis Turley has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with Celtic. The 18-year-old was given the chance to impress by Brendan Rodgers during pre-season and has clearly impressed the manager.

The promising player joined Celtic from Glentoran in 2022 on a three-year deal. Several clubs were interested in the youngster but it was ultimately the Scottish Champions who won his signature. Now, he has extended his stay with the club following the Celts’ return from America.
Turley only made his senior debut for the Celts against Queens Park last month but quickly caught the eyes of supporters when he scored in that same game. He was a late addition to Celtic’s squad for their trip to America and came off the bench in victories over DC United and Chelsea.
There could potentially be a place for him in the squad in a few days’ time when Celtic face Kilmarnock on Flag Day (August 4).
After Celtic’s victory over Queens Park, Rodgers said: “I’ve only seen him [Turley] in the last few days and you can see he’s a football player. He does some wonderful things with the ball and he has natural instinct to get into the box.”
Hopefully, there’s an impressive breakout campaign to come for the 18-year-old and maybe one or two more young Celtic stars.
