Celtic support loving league table today and it could get even better

Celtic supporters will be focused on today’s Premier Sports League Cup quarter-final against Partick Thistle at Firhill but that’s not going to stop us revelling in theRangers current lowly status in the Scottish Premiership and it could get worse this week as they could end up bottom by Saturday…

theRangers might have enjoyed a rare victory yesterday to march on to the semi finals of the league cup, but results elsewhere meant that the Ibrox side now occupy eleventh spot in the premiership table, a whopping nine points behind the champions, and the Celtic supporters have unsurprisingly been revelling in their woes.

Dundee’s win at Dens Park over Livingston has propelled them up the table from second bottom to fifth and before theRangers play again Aberdeen take on Dundee United in midweek and then Motherwell next Saturday and if they pick up four points theRangers will go to Livingston a week today bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Sitting one place above bottom spot is not what the ultra rich 49ers had in mind when they completed their world record takeover of the Govan Galacticos, but due to poor results that’s just where they find themselves at the moment, and it could get even worse before they kick a ball on league duty once more.

From vocal displeasure against the manager to poor displays on the park, we have all been revelling in their temporary demise, as the best feeling in the world apart from Celtic winning is seeing the newco Ibrox club suffer.

We’re not naive enough to believe that they will find themselves in a relegation battle, as they will ultimately find their feet and go on a run of results to haul themselves back up to the top end of the table, thus ensuring Russell Martin will be a hero and we will be back to hearing about them going for world domination.

But we can enjoy their current lowly status for the time being and will be keeping a close eye on how Aberdeen get on with their game in hand this week and their trip to Tannadice on Saturday. You can be sure that Celtic supporters will absolutely love it if theRangers drop to bottom on Saturday. I’m pretty sure that the Aberdeen fans will love it too!

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. As much as the Huns are a great source of amusement to ourselves, we are hardly in a position to mock to much ourselves imo.

We are hardly setting the Heather on fire, with our own footballing displays either, especially with the start of this season to date.
But this has been in existence beyond just this season also, when on show for the best part of this calendar year, within our bigger games.

Would class this week as a very big week for ourselves in footballing terms.
Today is another one off game, where our record remains at mixed in such games this year.
Don’t believe that another embarrassing setback should be even in consideration today, but confidence isn’t as high as I would be expecting either unfortunately.

A good win today, should put ourselves in a better place for the start of our europa league campaign on Wednesday.
2 defeats is an unthinkable prospect, which would only intensive the anger within our club.

Could it be regarded as Rodgers job is potentially on the line this week?
Couldn’t totally rule it out at present, of course that becomes nonsense if we start getting back to playing and producing the results and displays that is a requirement within our club.

Confidence might be fairly low at present myself, but still believe that it can and will be achieved for ourselves all the same imo?
