Celtic support’s essential role for Livingston and Dundee games

Livingston and Dundee games just as important as Glasgow Derby clash…

The Glasgow Derby is just over a week away and it is undoubtedly our biggest game of the season so far. We can’t afford to get beat or draw for that matter, recent results have turned it into a must win match for Brendan Rodgers. If we have aspirations of defending our title then three points is a must against our Glasgow rivals.

A year ago today Celtic played Livingston at Celtic Park and it was a close match, with Celtic winning 2-1 thanks to typically clinical Kyogo finish. David Martindale’s side always seem to make it difficult for us and you can be sure he’ll be parking the bus once again on Saturday.

But before that we have two difficult games to negotiate in the form of Livingston and Dundee. Both games are just as important as the Glasgow Derby clash and maximum points must be achieved in each game.

Livingston as we know will be tough to break down at Celtic Park, while in-form Dundee will prove a tough obstacle at Dens Park on Boxing Day. Not only are the points important, but we need the added confidence after suffering back to back league defeats.

Going into the Glasgow Derby on the back of two wins over Livingston and Dundee is absolutely essential. I’m confident we can do just that, we are the top team in Scottish football, but we just happened to have hit something of a form slump in recent weeks. It can happen but it has to stop now.

We’ve proven in certain games this season that when we hit top form that we are a more than decent side. The Atletico Madrid and Aberdeen games at Celtic Park as well as the Hearts game at Tynecastle immediately spring to mind. And just last week we defeated the Dutch Champions Feyenoord.

If we can conjure up that sort of form again then we will take care of Livingston and Dundee, and can head into the Glasgow Derby in high spirits, with the backing of 60,000 Celtic supporters, hopefully including The Green Brigade and Celtic Bhoys – get that sorted, Celtic please!

And for every Celtic supporter attending the game on Saturday it is absolutely essential to get behind the team from the first whistle to the last and make as much noise as possible – supporting Brendan and the Bhoys to ensure we get the three points. We have a title to win and a battle on our hands. We need to be up for it.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
