Celtic target £3m Swedish attacker to replace Nicolas Kühn

Celtic are reportedly keen on signing Isak Jansson from Rapid Vienna. The Swedish winger was signed by the Austrian side in January 2024 as a replacement for Nicolas Kühn but now, Celtic could follow Vienna’s succession plan.

As reported by Sun Sport, Celtic are considering a move for the Swedish winger as they look to replace Como-bound Kühn.

Celtic have agreed a €20m deal to sell the 25-year-old to the ambitious Serie A side, meaning Brendan requires to bring further wide options into the club. One name is Jansson but the club face competition from Paris FC, Fiorentina and Lazio.

Jansson has scored ten goals and assisted on 8 occasions in 45 games in Austria. The report states that he would be available for £3m but he is likely to have a number of clubs vying for his signature.

The player plays on either flank but is right footed. The attacker’s main attributes are pace and dribbling, two attributes which Kühn possessed.

Celtic have are considering both Antwerp’s Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sarpsborg’s Sondre Orjasaeter as they look to strength in wide areas. Jota will be unavailable until the end of the year, meaning cover is required. There is interest in Yang from Legia Warsaw but if Kühn goes, Celtic look light out wide for the start of the new season.

So they get £17.2m for Kuhn and are in the market to but 2 cheap replacements at half that amount. Fans being ripped off by the Board again. Balikwisha is a terrible player, not worth £1m. Don’t know anything about the young winger from Rapid Vienna, but a £3m asking price tells its own story.

There are some great players out there – Orjastaeter, Strelec, for example, but they cost a bit more than bargain basement and the Board won’t sanction it. All that talk from Rodgers about adding quality to the team for Europe was just a load of guff. They can’t even replace the lost quality of Kyogo & Kuhn, let alone add quality. It’s an utter disgrace, a betrayal of the fans. And while I’m on a rant, I would like to know the real reason why Rodgers has let Nawrocki go on loan to Germany. He’s far superior to Scales and Trusty and yet Rodgers wants shot of him. There should be serious questions asked about this because we know Nawrocki is a great defender. He has more than proved himself. So what is really going on between Rodgers and Nawrocki?
