Siriki Dembele has handed in a transfer request with Peterborough United, according to Football Insider. The 24-year-old is the brother of Celtic youth prospect Karamoko Dembele and has been linked with the Scottish Champions as well as Glasgow rivals Rangers.
Dembele, who started his career with Dundee United, joined Posh in June 2018 and has scored 5 goals and notched up 5 assists in 19 appearances this season. This impressive form has garnered the interest of a number of teams, including Neil Lennon’s Celtic. With his younger brother at the club as well as former Assistant Manager Gavin Strachan on the coaching staff, Celtic may be his ideal destination.

Celtic are about to enter a transition with a high turnover of players as the team prepare for the new season and potentially a new manager. There may be some high profile departures as Celtic look to fund their new crop of stars.
The club look set to miss out on another target with Mark McKenzie looking to complete a £5m deal to Genk in the coming days. Celtic, meanwhile, have been linked with making a pre-contract offer for Ben Pearson of Preston North End.
Another one season wonder that we’ll waste money on, just like half a dozen others in the past few seasons that have come and done nothing. When are we going to learn and stop wasting money.
