Celtic Team News: Griffiths and Sinclair start, Hendry preferred to Ajer

THE CELTIC side to take on Hearts in the second Scottish Premiership match of the season is confirmed as follows:

Gordon

Lustig Hendry Simunovic Tierney

Brown Kouassi

Hayes McGregor Sinclair

Griffiths

Substitutes are Bain, Rogic, Ntcham, Edouard, Ajer, Forrest and Johnston.

The match kicks off at 12.30pm and the supporters are arriving in their usual large numbers.

Brendan Rodgers clearly has one eye on on Europe and the central defensive partnership of Hendry and Simunovic looks like it is being road-tested ahead of Athens.

Celtic had to issue a corrected teamsheet after getting the line-up wrong – it has been that type of week. The club mistakenly issued last week’s team selection before a correction was made.

Celtic won 3-1 on their last visit to Tynecastle in May, having lost 4-0 the previous December as the long unbeaten run came to an end.

Both sides recorded comfortable opening day wins last weekend and today’s winners will go clear at the top of the league.

Leigh Griffiths and Scotty Sinclair, both have excellent records against Hearts, and will fancy it today.

Here’s some footage of Celtic arriving at Tynecastle just before 11am…

Here is the first look at the long grass (LOL)…

There is no place, as expected, for Dedryck Boyata who has a bad back and an agent with a bad attitude.
