Celtic look set to cash in on Gustaf Lagerbielke in the summer transfer window with Dutch side FC Twente trying to negotiate a deal with the Scottish Champions…

Lagerbielke ‘unlikely’ to remain at Celtic
As stated in MailSport, the 24 year-old, who is currently on loan at Eredivisie side FC Twente is ‘unlikely’ to remain at Celtic in the long-term. The central defender has netted twice in the last five matches for the Dutch outfit and is now a regular despite having a sluggish start when departing the Scottish champions in late August.

Lagerbielke completed the full game in FC Twente’s 2-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in their Europa League knockout playoff first-leg on Thursday.
The winners of that tie will play either theRangers or Olympiakos in the last 16 of the competition in March.

At the very least Celtic will look to recoup £3m paid to IF Elfsborg
Signed by Brendan Rodgers in the summer of 2023 for £3m from IF Elfsborg, the Swede made only 10 appearances for Celtic during the 2023/2024 season.
Now, with a wide range of options available to Rodgers such as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty, Liam Scales, Dane Murray and Maik Nawrocki, Celtic will look to cash in on Lagerbielke in the summer.

Amid an increasingly successful loan spell in Netherlands, it looks highly unlikely Gustaf will feature for our club in the future. Cashing in and maybe making profit on the fringe centre-back seems like the most viable option for all parties.
