Celtic tracking young attacker, facing competition from Aston Villa

Celtic are tracking Reuben McAllister from Bristol City, according to reports. McAllister’s father, Jamie, has recently taken up the role of Assistant Manager at Hibernian. McAllister came through the ranks with Bristol and he has progressed into their U23s set-up.

According to Football Scotland, Celtic are one of a few teams that have looked at the young attacker as they monitor whether to make an offer for the 16-year-old.

Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are credited with an interest in the player, as too are Newcastle United, Leicester City, Brighton and Rangers. Ange Postecoglou has spoken about bridging the gap between the B Team and the first team and it would be interesting to see if a raft of young players come into the team in order to bolster the second team.

The player is on a two-year scholar’s contract and Bristol City are keen to monitor his progress with a view to taking his game forward. Despite his father relocating to Scotland, McAllister will face a decision should interest in the player manifest itself into offers.

David Potter’s new book, Willie Fernie – Putting on the Style is featured in the new edition of the Celtic View which is out now and available from the Celtic Stores.  You can also pick up the Willie Fernie book there too or order direct from Celtic Star Books, link below…
