John Beaton has been appointed referee for tonight’s Scottish Premiership clash between Celtic and Aberdeen…

The 43 year-old experienced whistler has only refereed the Hoops on two occasions this season. The first came in Celtic’s thumping 3-0 Glasgow Derby victory over Philippe Clement’s theRangers in Glasgow’s east end at the beginning of the campaign.
Beaton’s back tonight
Beaton was also in charge of Brendan Rodgers’ side’s dramatic Premier Sports League Cup win over Philippe Clement’s charges in December. Following 120 minutes of action-packed drama, Celtic emerged victorious winning 5-4 on penalties and lifting trophy number 119 in their decorated history.

Back to winning ways, please Celtic
Meanwhile, Celtic will be aiming to return to winning ways. Surprisingly, Rodgers’ men suffered their second domestic defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon at Easter Road where Hibs controversially picked up three points in the capital versus the Scottish champions.
On the other hand, ending a club record 14-game Scottish Premiership winless streak last Saturday at Dens Park, Aberdeen have won back-to-back games and have regained third spot.
Celtic and Aberdeen’s fourth meeting of the season

This will be the fourth meeting of the season between the two sides. Jimmy Thelin has had an up and down spell at the Dons since arriving from Elfsborg in the summer, and has yet to get the better of Rodgers in the dugout.
Joining Beaton on-field are linesman Daniel McFarlane and Jonathan Bell. Manning VAR duties at Clydesdale House is Greg Aitken with David Dunne taking up the role as AVAR.
The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football. For Celtic supporters subscribing to Celtic TV and based outside Britain and Ireland, can watch the match on Celtic TV with the club’s providing live coverage of the game.
Kick-off at Celtic Park is 8:00pm. Three points please Bhoys!
