Celtic v Aberdeen – last time out, McGregor’s screamer at Pittodrie

Celtic face Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon as the Scottish Champions look to pick up three points against the visitors from Pittodrie. In the last meeting back in December, Callum McGregor scored the winner with a classy finish from the edge of the area.

Celtic were dominant throughout the game but struggled to break down the eight-man block that Aberdeen installed around their box. The rewards came as the skipper blasted an effort beyond Roos to take the Scottish Champions nine points clear once again.

It was a turgid game with Aberdeen adopting the surprising tactic of frustrating Celtic’s attack as opposed to attempting to exploit the defence. This result began the slippery slope which resulted in Goodwin getting the sack from the Reds.

Hopefully, Celtic will be in a menacing mood tomorrow and show their ruthlessness in front of goal. Kyogo is fit and that will be a blow to the visitors as the SPFL’s top hitman will look to continue his sparkling form. In the first meeting of the season, Celtic won 2-0 thanks to goals from Stephen Welsh and Jota.
