Celtic v Aberdeen: Predicted XI for Scottish Champions

Celtic face Aberdeen this afternoon in the Cinch Premiership. Ange Postecoglou’s side will see the League Flag unfurled by skipper Callum McGregor before focus switches to Jim Goodwin’s visitors from Pittodrie.

There have been a number of arrivals this summer as Ange has consolidated his team and added strength and depth across the Starting XI. Although, the first half against Norwich suggested that the manager already had his preferred team for the league opener in mind.

Celtic’s No.1 Joe Hart will start in goal. Stephen Welsh is expected to start beside Cameron Carter-Vickers at the back as Starfelt remains on the sidelines. At left-back, Greg Taylor is expected to start ahead of Alexander Bernabei and Josip Juranovic will start in the right-back position in front of Scottish Internationalist Tony Ralston.

In midfield, you would expect captain Callum McGregor to be joined by Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley. In attack, the wide areas will likely be occupied by Daizen Maeda and Jota with Kyogo playing through the middle. It is a big call up front for the manager as Kyogo decides between his two star strikers. It is imagined that Giorgos Giakoumakis will need to settle for a place on the bench.

Predicted XI: Hart; Juranovic, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Taylor; McGregor, O’Riley, Hatate; Jota, Kyogo, Maeda.

We will bring you team news as soon as it is released.
