Celtic face Bayern Munich on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League Playoff round first leg. The Scottish Champions will be hoping to show their quality against the Bundesliga leaders and take a result to Bavaria next week…

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern dished out some punishment when at home in the UCL but suffered three defeats out of their four away games. Celtic go into the game unbeaten at Paradise in six games in Europe’s top competition but will know that they’ll be in for a real challenge against the six-time European Champions.
Celtic Team News

Celtic were given a huge boost with the news that Daizen Maeda would be available for the game. The Japanese attacker had his two game suspension successfully appealed meaning that he will be available for tomorrow’s game.
Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals. The Dane missed the win over Raith Rovers but will return to the first team ahead of a potentially busy night under the lights at Paradise.

Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers will likely start in the central pairing with Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston in the full back berths. Callum McGregor will start in the heart of the midfield with Arne Engels and Reo Hatate offering assistance in both attack and defence.

Maeda will likely start along with Nicolas Kühn in the wide areas with Adam Idah through the middle. Brendan will keep Jota in reserve to make an impact against the Germans.

Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Taylor, Trusty, Carter-Vickers, Johnston; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Maeda, Idah, Kühn.

UEFA Match Officials

Jesús Gil Manzano has been appointed as the referee for the game. The Spanish referee will be assisted by compatriots Ángel Nevado and Diego Barbero with José Luis Munuera acting as Fourth Official.
Meanwhile, on VAR duties, UEFA have appointed Spanish referee Carlos del Cerro Grande with Tiago Martins (POR) assisting.

Kick Off Time
The game kicks off at 8pm (Celtic Park Time).
Where to Watch
Supporters will be able to watch the game live on TNT Sports 2 and stream it via Discovery+. For live audio commentary, Celtic TV will provide coverage, though due to UEFA restrictions, live video may not be available on this platform.

Predicted Score
The tie will still be in the balance for next Tuesday’s trip to the Alliance but if things go our way this evening we should have a lead to protect after a 2-0 Celtic victory.
