Celtic face Dundee this afternoon in the first home fixture of the Cinch Premiership. Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to rectify the poor opening day result against Hearts with a resounding win over the recently promoted Dens Park outfit. The win over FK Jablonec proved that there has been progress made under Postecoglou but that a number of signings are still needed.
Team News
Joe Hart will likely make his Celtic Park debut after making his first outing for the club in the 4-2 win against Jablonec. The English Internationalist has played at the stadium before as part of a charity match and in a friendly for Man City but he will be expected to fill the goals against the Dark Blues.
James McCarthy could be in line for his Celtic debut. Speaking during the week, the midfielder said that he would be fit to play if the manager wants him to. However, he may need to settle for a place on the bench.
Odsonne Edouard’s future remains up in the air amidst links to Southampton and Brighton. The Frenchman is expected to depart the club this month for £20m; although, today could very well prove to be his final appearance at Paradise. His striking colleague, Leigh Griffiths, is still out but expects to return for the second-leg against the Czech Republic next week.
Kick-Off Time
The game will kick off at 3pm, Celtic Park Time.
Where to Watch
24,500 will be in attendance at Celtic Park as the club ramp up preparations for an increased capacity in the coming week. For those Season Ticket holders not lucky enough to come out the ballot, the game will be on the Pass to Paradise.
For supporters outside the UK and Ireland, the game will be screened on Celtic TV.
Hopefully Celtic can register a convincing win and then can get down to completing a few pieces of transfer business. The club need to get a few players signed as the team requires depth in certain positions and quality first-team players in other positions. Ange has already indicated that the club are working on getting a few bodies through the door.
