Celtic will play Hamilton Accies this afternoon as the Scottish Champions look to close the gap on Rangers at the top of the Premiership. Jack Ross’ Hibs play Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox in the earlier kick-off with Celtic travelling to Brian Rice’s depleted Accies in the 3pm kick-off. The game is important for the 10IAR chasers to build up a good run of form ahead of the visit to Ibrox on January 2.
Where to watch it?
The game will be on Sky Sports Football but not only that, non-Sky Sports subscribers will be able to watch the Boxing Day clash on Sky One – directly after the Rangers v Hibs game. The game will also be broadcast by Celtic TV outside the UK & Ireland. Kick-off 3pm.
Teams news
Neil Lennon said during the week that Shane Duffy and Scott Brown were hoping to be back for the game at the FOYS Stadium. The pair might not make it as the astroturf surfaces can be notorious for picking up or aggravating injuries. James Forrest still remains out with an ankle injury.
The Provisional Celtic squad is:
Goalkeepers: Barkas, Bain, Hazard
Defenders: Frimpong, Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer, Duffy, Ralston, Bitton, Welsh, Taylor, Laxalt
Midfielders: Brown, Soro, McGregor, Henderson, Connell, Ntcham, Turnbull, Christie, Elyounoussi, Rogic, Johnston
Strikers: Edouard, Ajeti, Griffiths, Klimala
Hamilton are depleted due to injuries and COVID-19. There are ten absences from the Accies squad – Marios Ogkmpoe (knee), Will Collar (knee), Shaun Want (thigh), David Templeton (groin) and Lewis Smith (hamstring) are longer-term absentees. Whilst Ryan Fulton is out too along with Scott Martin, Nathan Thomas and Ross Callachan.
