Celtic v Hibernian: John Beaton to referee midweek clash

Celtic face Hibernian this evening at Paradise in the Cinch Premiership. The Scottish Champions were poor for an hour against St Johnstone on Sunday but found their feet and were able to deliver three points owing to a 3-1 victory. Attention now turns to the visit by the Easter Road outfit, who drew when the sides met earlier this season in the capital.

The SFA have confirmed that John Beaton will referee the game with Daniel McFarlane and Craig Ferguson acting as Assistant Referees. Colin Steben will be the Fourth Official. Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, Gavin Duncan is on VAR and he is assisted by David McGeachie.

Celtic go into the game eight points clear of Rangers, who have a game in hand. The fixture card on Wednesday evening could prove to be pivotal in the title race as Celtic host the Leith club while their rivals, Hearts, host Rangers at Tynecastle. Hearts have put together a fine run of form in recent weeks.

It will prove to be an entertaining, if not cold night under the lights at Paradise.
