Celtic v Motherwell: team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic face Motherwell this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s side return to Cinch Premiership duties following their final Europa League game on Thursday night. The Celts ran out 3-2 winners in an exciting game against Real Betis but picked up a couple injuries, which will frustrate the manager. Arriving at Celtic Park this afternoon are Graham Alexander’s Motherwell, who are fourth in the League table.

Team News

The win on Thursday was overshadowed by Albian Ajeti and Kyogo being forced off the field with injuries. Ajeti’s is said to be worse whilst there is a hope Kyogo’s injury is not as serious as first feared. Mikey Johnston will likely lead the line with Giorgos Giakoumakis also still sidelined. Joey Dawson and Owen Moffat have been called into the first team as a result with Ange looking for more options in attack.

Celtic are boosted by the return to training of Anthony Ralston but the manager will have a decision to make whether he includes him in the starting XI or whether he persists with Josip Juranovic at right back with Liam Scales at left back.

After the manager decided to rest a number of first team players for the game midweek, he will be able to welcome back a strong XI for the game against the Steelmen.

Jota remains out for the foreseeable as does Christopher Jullien, with the French defender’s return date unknown.

Predicted XI: Hart; Scales, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Juranovic; McGregor, Rogic, Turnbull; Abada, Johnston, Forrest.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 3pm (Celtic Park time).

Where to Watch

The game will be available on the Pass to Paradise for ST holders unable to make the game. For Celtic TV subscribers outside the UK & Ireland, the game will be shown on the site.
