Team’s Up – no strikers, Forrest and Abada start

Ange Postecoglou has named his side for this afternoon’s game against Motherwell at Celtic Park. The fourth placed side from North Lanarkshire arrive in a rich vein of form with their manager winning the accolade of Manager of the Month for November.

Ange has been dealt a double blow in terms of the attackers available to him after Thursday night’s win over Real Betis with both Kyogo & Albian Ajeti being forced off. However, the manager has named a strong team as he looks to close the gap on Rangers once again.

In goals, Joe Hart returns to the Starting XI after sitting out the final Europa League game.

In defence, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt form the central pairing. They are joined by Josip Juranovic at right back and Greg Taylor at left back.

In the middle of the park, captain Callum McGregor is joined by Nir Bitton and David Turnbull.

In attack, it looks like Tom Rogic is leading the line as a false nine and is ably supported by Liel Abada and James Forrest.

On the bench: Bain, Ralston, Welsh, Johnston, Shaw, Henderson & McCarthy.

It is a must win for Celtic this afternoon and a very strong Motherwell side will look to create problems. Celtic must take their chances and prove their credentials during this hectic run of fixtures.
