Celtic v Rangers: Predicted XI as Jota returns

Celtic face Rangers this afternoon in the Scottish Cup Semi Final as the teams battle to take their place in the June 3rd Final. For Ange Postecoglou’s side, they know that their Glasgow rivals stand between them and a shot at a Treble.

Celtic go into the game with the news that Liel Abada, Jota and Reo Hatate are fit and in contention. However, the manager will need to assess whether to make wholesale changes or not.

Joe Hart will start in goals. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt will start in the centre of defence with Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston in the full back berths.

In midfield, expect Matt O’Riley to start with Tomoki Iwata and Callum McGregor at the heart of the central three. This is likely the area which the manager will have most headaches given Hatate’s return and Aaron Mooy being available.

In attack, Kyogo will start through the middle. The Japanese forward will be assisted on the wings by Daizen Maeda and Jota.

The game kicks off at 1.30pm (Celtic Park time) and the winners will face Inverness CT in the final.
