Celtic v Rangers: Predicted XI with Iwata to start, Mooy to return

Celtic face Rangers in the Glasgow Derby later this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s team look to take all three points against the visitors from Ibrox. The teams have met twice in the Scottish Premiership already this season, with Celtic winning the previous fixture at Paradise 4-0 before a New Years draw at Ibrox. In the last meeting, the League Cup Final in February, Ange’s side won 2-1 thanks to a brace from Kyogo.

In goals, Joe Hart will start. The Englishman will start with a back four in front of him comprising of Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and Greg Taylor. The left-back has returned after being forced off against Ross County with a dead leg.

In midfield, Ange will need to decide whether he will continue with Tomoki Iwata in the middle of the park or to include the returning Mooy. Matt O’Riley will be hoping that he can start the fixture but Ange will want the experience of the Australian. Captain Callum McGregor will make his 30th appearance in the fixture and will start. Iwata impressed in Dingwall and you’d expect him to get the nod given that Reo Hatate is out injured.

In attack, the front three picks itself – Kyogo through the middle, Jota on the right and Maeda on the left.

Celtic will also be able to call upon O’Riley, Turnbull, Oh and Haksabanovic from the bench.

Predicted XI: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor; McGregor, Iwata, Mooy; Jota, Kyogo, Maeda.
