Celtic v Rangers – Celtic team today

Odsonne Edouard will lead the line for Celtic today as Brendan Rodgers goes with the same side that pumped Rangers 5-0 in April.

Fit again French striker Odsonne Edouard starts and will be looking for an opportunity to get on and add to his wonderful ‘Skelping exploits from last season.

Brendan Rodgers was in two minds on which striker to start with and Leigh Griffiths can think himself unlucky to be on the bench.

Edouard scored the winner on our Beautiful Sunday at Ibrox in February and added two goals  against the Rangers in the 5-0 humiliation at Celtic Park’s Beautiful Sunday at the end of April.

Brendan Rodgers has his first choice keeper and back four in the team today. Craig Gordon is in goals with Lustig and Tierney the full backs and Boyata and Ajer in the centre awaiting the elbows from the loathsome Lafferty.

Skipper Scott Brown will be partnered by Olivier Ntcham in the centre of the park and will be targeted for some treatment by the visitors- hopefully Willie Collum will have his eyes in the front of his head today.

James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic – all three ‘Skelpers – will provide the width and fill the hole and support Edouard as Celtic look to secure the three points to go four clear of the visitors.
