The Scottish Champions were held to a 1-1 draw by a well organised Club Brugge side in the UEFA Champions League but will be looking to take any lingering frustration out against Don Cowie’s Dingwall side.

Brendan and his team will be disappointed at their first half showing against Club Brugge, which was lethargic, but take encouragement from the spirited second half response. This game will likely see the Celtic manager make a number of changes from the midweek team, especially with the forthcoming trip to Pittodrie on Wednesday night to take on Aberdeen in a top of the table clash.

Celtic Team News

Celtic appeared to have a couple of injury concerns on Wednesday with Cameron Carter-Vickers moving somewhat gingerly in the second half as did Nicolas Kühn, who appeared to be hobbling with a tight calf. Paulo Bernardo and Alex Valle made an impact after being introduced from the bench and the pair will be eager to start.

Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals. As Brendan may be reluctant to risk Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales will partner in the central pairing. Alex Valle is expected to come in for Taylor with FIFA ‘The Best’ nominee Alistair Johnston at right back.

In midfield, expect Callum McGregor to start in the middle with Paulo Bernardo and Reo Hatate. The Portuguese u21 skipper is overdue a start after impressing coming off the bench against both Hearts and Club Brugge.

In attack, Adam Idah is likely to start with Daizen Maeda on the left and James Forrest on the right, if Kühn is unable to make the game, or even if Brendan Rodgers reckons it’s not worth risking his star man.

Arne Engels, Luke McCowan, Yang and will all want to get on the pitch or a half hour of action.

Adam Idah spoke to the media at Lennoxtown this afternoon ahead of the game against Ross County at Celtic Park.

Match Officials

Whilst Graham McNeillie takes the role as AVAR.

  1. Much the same starting line-up, I had in mind myself for tomorrow.
Would like to see yang getting an opportunity ahead of forrest, especially if kuhn should be rested?
Hope to see a much faster start tomorrow, especially as our last 2, first half performances haven’t been up to the standards we have come to expect, from our team nowadays?
Think Rodgers will be looking to have the luxury of being able to replace, calmac, AJ, Hatate and Maeda with a game already won also?

  2. I think with the games coming hard and fast its beginning to show on some of the players which is understandable but the problem lies is if BR plays in which I see as a weakened side it gives opposing teams a lift as they see this as an opportunity to get something from the Celtic side.
It’s called rotating the squad butare some of the players asked to fill in good enough?
