Celtic v Ross County: Team news, match officials, KO time and where to watch

Celtic welcome Ross County to Celtic Park this afternoon and by the time the Scottish Premiership game will kick-off, our title rivals will have played in the early kick-off away at St Mirren.

Regardless of the outcome there Brendan Rodgers will appreciate the necessity to secure the three points to begin a post break charge to the title. For the second week in a row the opposition is from the Highlands, and Ross County will almost certainly park the bus and look to frustrate Celtic for as long as they possibly can.

The Buckie Thistle support was large and impressive last weekend, but today there will be a tiny number of away fans inside a packed Paradise and the Celtic support will be doing all we can to roar the team onto secure the three points. As the song says we’re all looking forward to watching Glasgow Celtic putting on a show.

Team News

The big story is the Greg Taylor picking up an injury last weekend and set to miss the next few weeks. Brendan Rodgers has three main options for cover as The Celtic Star featured yesterday, but the most likely option of the three is to move Liam Scales over to play left-back. That was the position that former manager Ange Postecoglou played him when he started and he’s plenty of experience playing as a full-back at Shamrock Rovers.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, who signed a new long-term contract at Celtic yesterday, returns after a short injury lay-off and looks certain to start. And the Celtic captain Callum McGregor will return after being give a well deserved rest last weekend in the fourth round Scottish Cup win.

Meanwhile our only new signing – so far – Nicolas Kuhn is in contention to play a part today and is likely to get his debut coming from the bench. Rocco Vata will be the cover for Kyogo, with the plan to give the Japanese striker an hour with the game hopefully well in the bag before giving the Celtic Academy prospect more minutes as Kyogo is wrapped in cotton wool ahead of the trip to Pittodrie next Saturday lunchtime.

Predicted Team

Hart; A.Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Nawrocki, Scales; McGregor (c), Bernardo, O’Riley; Abada, Kyogo and Palma
