Celtic v St Johnstone – team news, kick off time and where to watch

Celtic face St Johnstone this afternoon as Premiership action returns to Celtic Park. After the two wins on the road against Aberdeen and Motherwell, Ange Postecoglou’s side will look to record a home win against the Perth outfit. Callum Davidson’s side are no mugs, having won both the Scottish Cup and League Cup last year, but Celtic already look to be a different animal altogether from last year.

In terms of the defence, Josip Juranovic is back in contention following a hamstring injury. The Croatian full back will be hoping to get himself in the Starting XI as the first pick at Right Back, despite the performances of Tony Ralston. Boli Bolingoli comes back into the fold having missed the win over Ferencvaros due to being unregistered. He may return to the Starting XI as his Celtic redemption continues. The game will be too soon for Christopher Jullien, who is just making his return to first team football.

In midfield, there are no fresh concerns. James McCarthy has missed the last two games since the international break with a slight knock but he will return to the match day squad. Much like Jullien, the game will come too soon for James Forrest.

Expected team – one change from the 2-0 win over Ferencvaros – with Boli Bolingoli replacing Adam Montgomery at left back.

Kick off Time

The game will kick off at 3pm (Celtic Park time).

Where to Watch

A capacity crowd is expected but due to the implementation of vaccine passports, please make sure that you are there in good time to avoid delays. If you cannot make it, the game will be on the Pass to Paradise. Celtic have also introduced a PPV for supporters starting today available at £12.99 but due to UEFA exclusions excludes viewers in England, as per the situation last week with the Motherwell PPV.  The Hibs match in midweek is also available via PPV at £15, it’s not being shown on Sky Sports.
