Celtic v St Mirren – team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic face St Mirren this evening as Ange Postecoglou’s side looks to return to winning ways following a draw at Easter Road. The league leaders are three points clear at the summit of the table and will be hoping to extend this as Rangers visit St Johnstone. Stephen Robinson’s Saints will look to draw some inspiration from Shaun Maloney’s Hibs, who were able to contain Celtic’s attacks at the weekend.

Celtic were flat at the weekend and the manager will want a reaction from his players as they look to consolidate their place at the top of the table.

Team News

Postecoglou will be hoping that his team can get their attacking spark back after a dull draw in Edinburgh at the weekend. Celtic were thin on the bench with the manager only subbing  Matt O’Riley on for Tom Rogic. The dilemma will remain in the middle of the park again as the boss looks to get the best out of his team. Deciding between O’Riley, Rogic, Hatate to join Callum McGregor in the centre of the park.

Giorgos Giakoumakis missed the draw at Easter Road due to illness but the manager said that he could be back into consideration for this evening’s game. Speaking yesterday, Ange said if he were to make a call it would be that he won’t start but be involved. The Greek striker will hope that he can inspire some goals from a Celtic side that have lacked a bit of kick in recent weeks. In the attacking areas, Liel Abada, Jota and Daizen Maeda all struggled to make an impact and the three will compete should Giakoumakis return. James Forrest missed out but will hope to get on the bench, along with Karamoko Dembele.

Christopher Jullien will be hoping to get some time on the pitch, having only had a chance to get on against Raith Rovers last month.

Predicted XI: Hart; Juranovic, Starfelt, Carter-Vickers, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley; Jota, Maeda, Abada.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 19:45 (Celtic Park time).

Where to Watch

Fans that are unable to attend will be able to watch the game on the Pass to Paradise. The game will also be available to watch for Celtic TV subscribers outside Britain and Ireland. For those inside this area, they will be able to purchase a PPV stream for £12.99.
