There seems to a large number of confused supporters of theRangers on social media at the moment (I know, shock horror!) but more than usual I should say!

The deluded Bears are getting rather excited by the possibility of the return of their Scouse messiah Steven Gerrard and have been busy spouting drivel about what he achieved in his first spell at Ibrox.
Gerrard won a grand total of ONE out of a possible NINE honours at theRangers, despite being handed a more than generous war chest from the latest Ibrox club. Indeed Callum Davidson at St Johnstone was a more successful manager during the time Gerrard managed theRangers as he actually won TWO trophies, like Gerrard’s his successes came on the COVID season when no fans were allowed in grounds and Celtic basically didn’t turn up.
That one honour the new club’s one and only top flight title so maybe it’s no wonder he’s considered a legend down Ibrox way. A statue in the pipeline?

That league title also happened to end Celtic’s dream of ten titles in a row which would have been a Scottish footballing record, and beat our own achievement set during the all conquering Jock Stein era between 1965 and 1974, so naturally we harboured a great deal of disappointment at the time.
But their key board warriors have been rattling off posts claiming that we ‘will never get over it’ and that ‘it was the only title that mattered’ or my personal favourite ‘it was the most important campaign in our history’.
Yes it was a blow, no one is denying that, but one we’ve long got over. And as for claims it was the only title that mattered, well don’t they all matter? The most important campaign in our history is also quite laughable as that season would happen to be 1966/67 when we won every single tournament we entered including the European Cup itself.

Yes, we blew the chance of breaking a record back in 2021, and that would be our own club record, no one else’s. And come May next year we’ll hopefully be pointing out to them that we’ve reached the halfway point in another attempt to break that record by reaching five on a row.
Celtic has won 13 titles in 14 seasons. If we could accept an offer to do the same again over the next 14 years then there’s not a Celtic supporter who would not accept that outcome. They welcomed the chase, Celtic accepted the challenge and we’ve now bypassed them in honours won if you accept the premise that they can could the liquidated club’s honours that their founding father Charles Green said he bought.
When Gerrard won the league in the Covid year it was all about reaching 55 – yet the number was never used before apart from when the old club got to 50 (49.5 actually as one title was shared with Dumbarton).
Football Without Fans is Nothing

The 55 thing was just a mechanism for getting the transfer of history through a financial transaction accepted in their own minds at least. But since then Celtic has reached 55 too and this season if we win the league it will be 56 a record that even they can’t argue with.
Celtic reaching 9IAR under Neil Lennon was also a record for the club, the ONLY club – dead or alive – to win nine consecutive titles TWICE. Lest we forget lads.
Football Without Fans is Nothing

If they had any sense they’d be asking questions about Gerrard’s one in nine record and his subsequent failures at Aston Villa and in Saudi Arabia. And there’s certainly nothing that is going to concern Brendan Rodgers about any Stevie G re-union, indeed it might even persuade the Celtic boss to extend his own contract at the end of this season.

People seem to forget that when Celtic did the 1st 9 in a row it was a joint World Record.
