Shaw joined Celtic on a pre-contract deal as he swapped Hillsborough for Celtic Park but the manager that signed him, Neil Lennon, had departed the club by the time that the young Englishman arrived. Ange Postecoglou replaced Lennon and gave him a run out during pre-season with Shaw not making his debut until the win over Real Betis in the Europa League in December. Shaw was limited to one further appearance before joining Motherwell on loan for the remainder of the season.
Last season, EFL League One side Morecambe signed the midfielder and he featured 39 times but could not save the team from relegation. Now, he will return to League One under the management of Maloney.
Maloney was given his chance as a coach under Brendan Rodgers during his first spell and the Irishman will be pleased that Shaw is working with an exciting young coach.
