Raith Rovers are considering an approach to make Celtic’s Darren O’Dea their new manager. The Irishman recently took on a new role at Paradise as the Professional Player Pathway manager but could be tempted if the Kirkcaldy club make an offer.
According to Sun Sport, Raith are interested in replacing Ian Murray with the former Celtic and Dundee defender but are considering a number of other candidates.
The report does concede that whilst O’Dea has admirers at Raith, it is unlikely that he’ll look to leave Celtic so soon into his new role.
Raith are considering Peter Leven, Airdrie’s Rhys McCabe, Tam Courts and Kevin Thomson with the Championship club evaluating their options. Thomson and Courts are out of work while Leven works in the Aberdeen first team.
The Starks Park outfit missed out in the Premiership Play-Off after falling to Ross County across both legs before a fairly dismal League Cup Group Stages this season. Murray, who had done well since joining from Airdrie, was a surprise first casualty of the new season.
