Celtic’s early morning post teases transfer announcement

Celtic look set to announce the permanent signing of Alexander Bernabei from Lanus. In a cryptic social media post, the club posted a short clip with an incoming phone call from Ange Postecoglou, with the details coming up in Portuguese. However, this could also be the move to sign Jota from Benfica that is also anticipated to be completed.

Celtic look set to clinch the signing of the attacker on a permanent deal. In 40 appearances, Jota scored 13 goals and assisted 14 times with the Celts becoming Scottish Champions once again due to his contribution.

Jota was certainly one of the bright sparks on the pitch this season. Ange spoke to The Celtic Star after the final game of the season and said that he wanted to get his business done early, signing Jota would be a step in the right direction. Once the deal is done, attention will turn to Alexander Bernabei with the club already signing Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham and Benjamin Siegrist from Dundee United. The manager will want a few more bodies in as he looks to get a team in the best shape ahead of retaining the title and having a crack at The Champions League.

If it’s Bernabei, then you’d expect Jota to be the next player to sign.
