Celtic’s Mouthwatering List of Upcoming Fixtures

December is traditionally the month of crucial fixtures and an intensive schedule. This season, it appears to be October and November.

Outside of Scotland, a lot is made about the lack of big games for Celtic. There’s the four derby games, cup semi-finals and finals, and European matches. Among those fixtures is what many down South deem as boring matches against pushover opposition. However, our run of upcoming games paints a very different picture – it’s as good a fixture list as anywhere at the moment.

What a test those games will be!

The Glasgow derby against our biggest title challengers, European giants AC Milan, a tough trip to Pittodrie with added impetus based on the outcome of the derby, a decent continental test with Lille, the 2019/20 Scottish Cup semi final in our bid for a quadruple treble, another European game, two tricky away domestic matches and two trips to Europe.

It doesn’t come much bigger than that. Neil Lennon will field his strongest team for all games and the team can ill afford to take their foot off the gas at any time.

And there are numerous fixture updates from the club today as the scheduled Saturday matches are pushed back to Sundays to accommodate the Thursday night Europa League Group stage matches.

Celtic announced the changes on the club’s official website this afternoon.

Celtic’s qualification for the group stages of the UEFA Europa League means that four SPFL fixtures for the club have been rescheduled, and they will now be played on the Sunday following the European ties.

The following four Celtic SPFL games have been rescheduled and here are the new dates:

Sunday, 25 October
Aberdeen v Celtic
Kick-off 3.00pm

Sunday, 8 November
Motherwell v Celtic

Sunday, 6 December

Please note that there may be further changes for live TV coverage in due course.
