Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn needs to consistently show Sunday’s form

Nicolas Kuhn was written off too quickly, but he needs to start showing Sundays form on a regular basis. The former Rapid Vienna attacker hasn’t had the best of starts to his Celtic career and was written off by most already despite only joining the club 8 weeks ago.

The German winger has flattered to deceive and didn’t look like he was any better than the players that we currently have in his position.

But have we been too quick to judge him? We’ve got to remind ourselves that he’s just settling in. Plus Brendan Rodgers recently spoke of his fight to get back to his full weight after losing almost a stone during Rapid Wien’s winter break. That could all be mitigating circumstances in his failure to impress so far.

Kuhn looked a totally rejuvenated player in the 4-2 Scottish cup win over Livingston on Sunday. He was lively throughout and looked like a player who loves to entertain and take players on.

He’s certainly a player that we could warm to at Celtic Park, a bit like Yang. Both are similar exciting players and it would be great to have both on top of their game on a consistent basis.

That’s the challenge now for Kuhn. He’s got to perform on a regular basis. If he does that then we will have a great player on our hands, and a lot of his critics will be eating large slices of humble pie.

  1. A little bit unfair to be looking at kuhn and consistency levels, when it’s been a massive failure throughout the whole team this season, for some reason?
Possibly Joe Hart has been our most consistent preformer to date imo?
Not faultless by any means either, and worse that it’s in a position where you would expect him to be the most quiet player on most match days within the SPFL?
Ange was looking for a strong end to last season, but ended with a whimper regarding the performance levels produced?
Yet this season we need a very strong end to the season now.
Between yang and kuhn on the right, and able to produce decent displays, along with kyogo and idah through the centre, and Maeda and Palma on the left-hand side, and all hitting form hopefully?
Then nothing to suggest that this double can’t be achieved either imo?
Creating and converting chances still remains key to ourselves, and enough firepower available to start putting into action on a far more regular basis than we have seen to date imo?
Could do with the midfield areas becoming more fluent within there play also?
Still need huge improvements within our defensive play, as that has been very poor of late, and the area that stands to cost ourselves dearly if they don’t start getting back on there game, and fairly sharpish also imo?
