A clean sheet for Kasper and another goal for Paulo, Celtic’s summer signing duo shone bright for their respective countries last night…
Kasper Schmeichel
It was an historic night personally for Hoops shotstopper Kasper Schmeichel who broke into the top five capped men’s Danish players of all time. Featuring in a 0-0 stalemate with Serbia, Schmeichel made his 112th cap for his country.
The 38 year-old goalkeeper was Player of the Match in Belgrade, as the Danes held onto a crucial point which guaranteed not only a place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final but also cemented Denmark as a pot 1 side for the World Cup qualifying draw next month.
It has been a successful camp for Schmeichel. Under a new voice in current boss Brian Reimer following the departure of Kasper Hjulmand in the summer, Denmark negotiated a tricky Nations League section which involved EURO 2024 winners Spain, and tough opponents Serbia and Switzerland.

Paulo Bernardo
Meanwhile, Portugal u21 skipper Paulo Bernardo netted in their comfortable 3-1 victory over Slovakia u21 in an international friendly last night.
Celtic’s playmaker was an integral part of his side easing their way through EURO 2025 u21 qualification in September, thus the reason of no competitive fixtures during this camp.
Portugal u21’s won nine of their 10 qualification matches and are one of the favourites for the competition which begins next summer in Slovakia.

Well done to Tony Ralston who played his part in Scotlands well deserved victory in Poland last night. The right back may only be there because of injuries, but his place in the Scotland side is surely his to lose now. pic.twitter.com/8vfTWJljG9

With the international break firmly wrapped up for both players, the pair will make their return to Lennoxtown on Thursday as Celtic prepare to face Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday evening in the Scottish Premiership.
