Champions again, tonight we celebrate then we start again – We never stop

Today we clinched the title and even sweeter it was at Tynecastle, and on Coronation weekend too. There was only one King me and you are saluting this weekend and that is of course Ange Postecoglou.

We knew today would be a hard task as Hearts always seem to find an extra gear when they come up against the green and white hoops, and so it proved as they gave everything they had and in the opening stages of the game. It looked like being one of those days until just before half time when Alex Cochrane lost his concentration and hauled down Daizen Maeda who was bearing down on goal.

It was only deemed a caution at first, but after VAR intervened the referee reviewed it again and could come to no other conclusion than showing Cochrane his marching orders. No matter what the pundits or the Hearts supporters say, it was a stonewall red card. The laws of the game state just that.

Celtic of course took advantage in the second half, in the 67th minute ironically. It was of course that man Kyogo yet again, poking home from close range to send the Celtic supporters in the corner into a frenzy. The Japanese striker is undoubtedly our player of the season. He’s the best striker in the country by a distance. No one comes close.

It wasn’t a vintage performance by the side today, just like in the previous few games we don’t look like our usual free flowing selves. Of course we were missing two important players in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston, and it’s that part of the season where it’s just all about winning, and we done just that today. Nothing else matters, we’re over the line now and we deserve nothing less as we’ve been absolutely outstanding this campaign.

Now that the title is in the bag, don’t expect Ange to take it easy. There might be a couple of changes here and there but nothing major. We can of course still beat the 106 points total set by Brendan Rodgers invincibles. There’s also the small matter of the Glasgow Derby next weekend. Keeping momentum going for the cup final will also be crucial.

As Ange famously says “we never stop” and that will be the case until the final whistle sounds on the season. That’s tomorrows problem, as for tonight we can celebrate being champions. HH.

Dermot Gallagher on Ref Watch today said it was the correct decision to send off the Hearts Player. Sky, who employ many Sevco supporters, for some reason totally ignored the 100% red card for the long faced Hun known as Goldhun. Did not even mention it.
